Administrative Intern Program...
The American Flyers Intern program has been in continuous operation for fifteen years and is designed to help specifically qualified individuals obtain their flight training while performing administrative duties.

Duration of the program is a minimum twenty-four months, consisting of twelve months of administrative work and flight training and twelve months of administrative work and flight instruction upon receipt of certificates and ratings.

Program Details...
During the first year selected candidates are paid a salary of $1,000 per month and provided a $500 per month living allowance. The first two months are a probationary and training period. After successful completion of the probationary period there are ten $1800 flight training scholarships awarded on a monthly basis toward their aviation education with American Flyers. The next twelve months candidates will work as a salaried flight instructor or training manager with potential earnings of $20,000 - $30,000 per year at one of the American Flyers locations.

American Flyers considers this program continuing education. Interns accepted into this program need to have their own financial backing in case of emergencies or expenses beyond their monthly salary. This program requires flexibility and commitment. Although the 24 months will be demanding, the rewards in personal and professional growth will be outstanding.

Prerequisites...

  • 4-year degree
  • Private Pilot license
  • Resumé, grade transcript, and personal interview
  • Flexibility to relocate
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a second class medical
